Hot’n Cold - Super powers

When I was younger, I used to dream I had super powers. I always told myself that someday I would be able to fly or to develop a super strength. I even bribed a friend to let me ride on his bike handlebars while he was riding at full speed in a slope and while I was sporting a towel around my neck. I hoped that it would give me enough momentum to take off by the end of the slope. And sure it did! For weeks I would tell my friends that I glided for nearly ten seconds. I would never tell them that this so-called glide ended up in a blackberry bush though!

Unfortunately, those who know me can tell you that I don’t have any super powers to brag. The only extraordinary ability I have is to be able to park my car within 50m of the place I need to go… which is pretty useless if I have to fight crime unless I am acting as Batman driver and need to park the Batmobile someplace safe…

Well, I thought, like the reasonable adult I was (stop laughing!), that I was without any super powers until I realized that I could dream the future! Yes you read well Internet!

Over the last few months I dreamed my phone, my main workstation and my car would start acting funky. And you what? They sure did! I really have a gift! Yeah it’s called amazing rotten luck!
Well nothing too serious in the end and it gives me the opportunity to upgrade aging hardware (yeah I also have another ability: I am super optimist)

Anyhow, if someday I could really fly that would be the greatest!

Hot this week:

  • London: I still love this city to no end. I love the atmosphere, and naturally I love shopping there and eating all sorts of treats!
  • I just received my updated Boda photo bag and I can’t wait to try it on the field.

Cold stuff this week:

  • My main workstation just died after 3 years of good service, it is now used as a cat stand.
  • Customs like me too much these days.

What will you remember of 2009?

For me it would  be:

  • Friending Amazing Clients
  • Meeting Awesome and Talented fellow photographers
  • Moving to my new place

As 2009 is coming to an end and 2010 is coming up right ahead, I can’t help but reflect on this past year and ask myself what lessons did I learn.

2009 went like a flash for me. I have the impression that I have been riding the bullet train the whole year! And this is a good sensation because basically this means that I have been busy.

2009 was really an important year for me. As I said in this post opening, it’s a year where I met wonderful and awesome people who helped me grow as a person and as a photographer. It’s a year where the focus on my brand is really starting to pay off. And if I have to be thankful to someone in particular it would be to you Internet and faithful readers. Even though I had some trouble and made mistakes along the way, I still learned a lot this year and I step into 2010 more and more confident in the way I manage my business. I still have a long way to go but I have never been so excited by the perspective of a new year!

I have lots of challenges coming up ahead but also lots of fun and interesting times.

And you Internet, if you had one thing to remember from 2009 what would it be?

Super Hero tights

Hi Internet, today I have one big confession to make. And this one is huge because this is one of the things I don’t often acknowledge.

Sometimes I can be the biggest geek in the room.

Yeah true that. Come on, let’s think about it a second and make a list.

  1. I love gadgets and all these kind of modern (sometimes useless) stuff.
  2. I like playing videogames.
  3. I can spend an entire day fine tuning my workstation because the mouse pointer doesn’t go at the right speed for me.
  4. I love reading comic books and I could probably tell you all about Wolverine’s origins (but I won’t be able to tell you about Hugh Jackman a lot).
  5. Whenever I watch an episode of The Big Bang Theory (great show by the way, if you don’t know about it, I urge you to go watch an episode right now!) I nearly wet my pants and at the same time I think that some of these guys are sooooo cool. And most of all, I think that Sheldon has some great T-Shirts! Come on, a Green Lantern shirt that’s so great! (And no this is definitely not a hint for a Christmas present

When I had more time I used to spend most of my days reading comic books and dreaming that I was as badass as Batman. If I didn’t know any better and if I didn’t think that it was an insult to fashion, I’m sure I would wear my underwear on top of my pants and speak with a cool musky voice (or try to anyway).

I came back late yesterday from a client meeting and when I entered my room, my eyes went to one of my comic book shelf. And I told myselft that it had been ages since I opened one of these. I grabbed one and went to read in bed… And I spent an awful amount of hours reading instead of getting some needed sleep and now I still want to read and catch up on everything I missed .

Man… That’s bad right?

I swear to you Internet if tights ever become fashionable, I am buying a Green Lantern outfit right away. (Please DON’T let this become fashionable, pretty please!! Or at least let Green Lantern wear Prada.)
