Sonya & Damien – Wedding

“I have been in love with him since I was 12.” This is what Sonya told me when she was writing her vows, while her aunt, the person who has always been rooting for their couple was doing her hair. At the same time, Damien was also reminiscing and they both were very emotional.

The first time Sonya caught sight of Damien, it was in the bus, when she was headed to a sport event. She was sitting near her best friend at that time, and when she saw this beautiful boy who was older than her through the window, she couldn’t help to say to her friend: “Look at him! He is so lovely!”. Her friend looked back at her a bit puzzled and told her that this boy was her older brother. It was fate, it was love at first sight for Sonya.

Like all good relationship, this has not been an easy one, especially in the beginning, but they both endured and did everything they could to make it work. And, oh man, it did work!

Sonya & Damien have chosen an open ceremony where they shared their love with each other, with their friends and familly as witnesses.

Sophie & Sambath – Aftershoot

Sophie and Sambath wedding was a blast, but it was all about familly and less about themselves. That’s why they decided to have an aftershoot as they know that we wouldn’t be able to make time to shoot nice couple pictures during the W-Day (did I ever tell you that I love when my clients think like this?).

They are very fond of the Opera disctrict in Paris and that’s where we decided we would shoot.

It was a nice quiet afternoon we had some fun and also some fright when Sophie slipped in the Starbucks coffee shop, but fortunately there was no harm… and we did score free drinks for the occasion (well maybe the super bride and super groom costumes helped too).

Sophie & Sambath – Wedding

Apart from exquisite and awesome food, the thing I love best about Asia is that every country has so many different sets of traditions. It is always so interesting to get to know them. Everything is always a bit different whether you’re dealing with Chinese folks, Vietnamese or Japanese people or in this particular case Cambodian individuals.

When I fist met Sophie and Sambath, I immediately knew that their wedding would be about traditions and family. In fact I immediately got to know the whole family on our first meeting: brothers, sisters, cousins, parents and grand-parents; and to say that it was very enjoyable would be an understatement.

They wanted to be very respectful of how things needed to be done but at the same time wanted to add their own touch to the event: Sambath is a volontary policeman and both of them wanted to highlight this. They wanted every member of the family to feel happy and they more than everything else wanted to honor their cultural heritage and their parents. And in the end, the day flew in a whirlwind of colorful and traditional clothing, laughter and emotions.
