Playing the occasional bridesmaid

The wedding season is over. Some of you, faithful readers, might think that this is a good time to relax, but on the contrary, this is the best time to prepare myself for next year. If you are following me on Twitter or on Facebook, you might already be aware that I am already working and preparing for 2010.

I believe that in my field of business it is always important to be up-to-date with the current trends and fashion. I need to stay fresh and I need to stay relevant and anticipate on what my clients need or want. That’s why I am constantly working. I feel like an eternal student or apprentice as I am always learning new things. I work on obvious things like my shooting or lightning techniques or on my branding. But I am also working on less obvious things. I read a lot of fashion magazine for example.

And it’s not only because I am a fashion victim curious mind. No, really. Looking at fashion editorials helps me keep up with the current trends and it also helps me find inspiration for posing my clients. I always amaze my brides when I ask about their dress or their shoes or when I talk about labels, fashion trends or jewelry.

But this is part of what I am and what I do. I am not only a photographer, I also need to be the occasional bridesmaid during a wedding.

I agree, it helps that I am a fashion victim hard worker.

So I thought that I might start sharing some great resources I come across to my brides-to-be. Let’s start by a wonderful blog: Style me pretty. If you are looking for great things to feel fabulous and to help you prepare your wedding, go and check it. This is a great resource and you might find great ideas to set your wedding apart!

Oh and for the record this post was not to justify my shoes and clothes addiction… Okay maybe it was a little… (Did it work?)

Vanessa – Your Place, Your Time

Vanessa is a shopping addict. If I had to believe her friends, she would spend her entire whole free time going from stores to stores. Apparently this is a serious condition, but strangely enought I can relate to her…

For her birthday, her three girlfriends wanted to give her something special and that’s when they contacted me. They wanted to capture a part of the essence of their friend and they suggested we take pictures of her shopping in all her favorite stores.

I was immediately on board and thought that it was a great idea. In the end we ended up dashing through the streets of Paris and it was a great time. Though it was cold and windy, everyone was a trooper and had fun.

Vanessa is a really sweet girl, very relaxed and she laughs a lot. She enjoys life and she has great friends to support her!

If you are interested in getting a special present for someone, don’t forget that I currently have a winter package running. Take advantage of it while it is here!

I just love the following pic. It is not technically perfect far from it, but I think that it really captures Vanessa’s personality.

And here she was with her three friends: Nathalie, Peggy and Anh. It was freezing but they didn’t hesitate to pose without their jacket for her dear friend.
